History
The District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas, created by order of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (“TCEQ”) on September 2,2005, an operates pursuant to Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code, as amended. Following the annexation of approximately 88 acres in January 2013, and approximately 196 acres in July 2015, to the original 693 acres at the time of creation, the District now contains approximately 977 acres of land.
The District is located in northeastern Brazoria County, approximately 22 miles south of the central downtown business district of the City of Houston and just west of State Highway 288. The District lies within the corporate limits of the City of Iowa Colony. The District is within the boundaries of the Alvin Independent School District.
